The angolean core investments has been in oil and diamonds, nowadays a new trend for economic diversification has just begun. Brazil-Angola's bilateral foreign trade had an extraordinary increase since 2000 from US$ 137.7 million to US$ 4.2 billion in 2008, including steel, fuels, food, machines and vehicles. "But there are lacks of other important products: pharmaceuticals, fruits, chemicals, plastic and ceramic. Notwithstanding, services are missed there, for instance, in healthcare, information technology and communication. " says Cláudio Ribeiro, Professor of International Relations of PUC-SP.
The Odebrecht was established there in 1984. It leads civil cnstructin from real state to hydropower plant. "Odebrecht employs over 19,000 people in engineering and civil construction, the vast majority angoleans" said Genésio Couto, Odebrecht's Drector for Latin America and Angola. This company created Telecom Angola Odebrecht and Olex Import and Export in order to facilitate foreign trade.
